Welcome to my newsletter, Feeling It. I am so happy you found it.

This is a brave space where I’ll share all my real and raw reflections on what it means to create in a world that demands so much of our attention.

Feeling It is about navigating the glorious, messy and overwhelming emotions that come with the creative process – the joy, the frustration, the doubt, and the drive to create something meaningful. It’s about finding ways to stay connected to your heart’s work while balancing the demands of everyday life: the dishes, the deadlines, and the endless distractions that threaten to pull us away from what matters.

In this newsletter, I’ll explore the weight of ideas, the tug-of-war between presence and ambition, and the challenge of creating without losing yourself in the process. The first series, Your Map Back to Meaning, will dive into the feeling of disconnection in a world designed to distract us – and how we can reconnect with ourselves, our creativity, and each other.

This is for anyone who’s ever felt the weight of their work, the pull of an idea, or the frustration of trying to hold it all together. It’s a place to reflect, reconnect, and rediscover what it means to create with intention, love, and authenticity.

So WELCOME.

This is Feeling It – with meeee, Amanda Baker.

I'm really glad you're here!

I'm Amanda Baker (she/her) – mother, entrepreneur, storyteller, creator of the 5 Stories Methodology, and a woman who feels everything intensely. I experience creativity as a physical sensation – a pull, an ache, a weight in my chest. I hear its whispers while I rock my daughter to sleep and deal with the never-ending washing pile that drives me crazy. I've been through a failed startup, multiple founder breakups, nearly went bankrupt at 27, survived being stabbed at 18, and found my purpose through loss and the chaotic process of rediscovery.

Storytelling gave my feelings somewhere to go. That's why I help others to understand and tell their own stories. I created Feeling It because when we share our raw, unfiltered experience of creating in a world that demands so much of our attention, we realise we're all just trying to figure this shit out together.

The creative journey isn't just about the work itself – it's about everything that surrounds it: the endless to-do lists, the scattered ideas, the push and pull between wanting to create and needing to be present. It's about holding it all, feeling it all, and showing up anyway. Because the work is too important not to.

If there’s a secret to life, the secret is this: the reason it feels hard for you right now is not because you’re doing life wrong, but because you’re finally doing it right.” - Glennon Doyle

Feel out loud with us

Being creative means feeling IT ALL – the joy, the pain, the vulnerability, the anxiety. You're not alone. We're creators, entrepreneurs, and parents navigating this chaotic (and worthwhile) journey together, exhausted by social media demands and the pressure to be 'on' all the fucking time. This is your brave space to release, riff, yell – whatever your soul needs to feel heard. You need it. WE ALL NEED IT.
